MBO College Hilversum ondersteunt NK GeoGuessr

Hilversum, 1 april 2025 – GeoNederland is proud to announce that the grand final of the NK GeoGuessr 2025 will take place on May 24 at MBO College Hilversum.

A pioneering education program joins a rising esports event

This collaboration forms a valuable bridge between education and the rapidly growing world of esports. MBO College Hilversum is home to one of the Netherlands’ most innovative programs: the Esports, Game & Event Manager (EGEM) course. In fact, back in 2021, it became the first school in Europe to offer a dedicated esports-focused vocational education program.

The EGEM program trains students to become professionals in esports, live event production, content creation, streaming, and marketing. During the NK GeoGuessr finals, students will take part in the production and organization of the event — from tech and livestreaming to visitor coordination and content. For them, this isn’t just a school assignment, but a real-world opportunity with (inter)national exposure.

On this final day, the top eight GeoGuessr players in the Netherlands will compete live on stage for a €1,000 prize pool, a custom trophy, and the title of Dutch GeoGuessr Champion 2025.
